Vikings Arrive in Manchester

MAG Developments, the property and development arm of the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), has announced that it has secured Viking Airlines as the latest tenant at Manchester Airport’s World Freight Terminal.

The new deal sees Regional Property Solutions (RPS) agree a three-year lease at a rental level of £9.95 per sq ft for the recently refurbished 4,015 sq ft unit. It is the final one of four speculatively refurbished units to have been let in recent months, following hot on the heels of lettings to PODs Cargo and CEVA (UK) Limited.

Established in 2001, MAG Developments is responsible for property, estate and facility management, along with development activity and strategic land acquisition and disposal across all four airports within the Group comprising Manchester Airport, East Midlands Airport, Bournemouth Airport and Humberside Airport.

John Atkins, Managing Director of MAG Developments said: “Manchester Airport’s World Freight Terminal has attracted a number of high profile occupiers and we are delighted to have secured this latest agreement with Viking Airlines.”

“The success of the speculative refurbishment scheme is very pleasing, especially taking the current economic climate into consideration. We are confident that we can continue this success and plan to go ahead with the refurbishment of two further units – one of which is already under offer.”

Based at Manchester Airport, MAG Developments boasts an investment portfolio of over £300 million and manages an estate of over 5000 acres, 200 plus buildings and 850 tenants.
