How to Do Business with Us

Each year M.A.G procures a diverse range of goods and services directly through our Procurement and Contracts. Therefore, we have various new business opportunities available to suppliers, so if you are interested in doing business with the largest UK owned airport owner and operator, please read on.

In delivering our Procurement and Contracts' Vision & Mission, our Category Management Model looks to drive efficiencies and achieve best value. Our intention is to clarify our process so that potential suppliers understand the regulations and legislation that impacts our business. Our procurement is governed under the Utilities Contracts Regulations (UCR), and therefore means that contracts over the value of EU thresholds must be tendered in line with this legislation. For high value tenders that meet this criteria, our preferred route to market is via Achilles UVDB to identify suppliers. Alternatively, we will issue an OJEU Contract Notice, which is an advertisement placed on the Official Journal of the European Union. The key milestones in this process are outlined below:

OJEU Tender process

For both OJEU and Non-OJEU procurements we use a consistent set of principles. The objective of this is to ensure that every procurement is executed in a systematic and consistent manner, which eliminates bias and ensures contracts are awarded on value for money based on either Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) or Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) principles. This ensures M.A.G complies with both UK procurement legislation and European procurement directives.

What we look for in suppliers:
We select our suppliers using a fair and transparent competitive process in line with our Procurement Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy. Our corporate values set out the high-level expectations of how we treat suppliers. We look to award contracts to suppliers who can demonstrate best performance against a combination of criteria including but not constrained to technical merit & performance, financial credibility, commercial credibility, environmental & sustainability policy and health & safety record.
