Work experience at Manchester Airport
Many students approach Manchester Airport hoping to do have an opportunity for work experience with the Airport Company. Much as we would like to do so we are unable to offer places to everyone. In order to be fair to all those wishing to apply to do work experience at Manchester Airport students must apply using the form attached to this page. Places will be offered according to the criteria shown below and will be dependant upon a suitable place being available and Airport capacity constraints.
At Key Stage 3 (aged 15) we have developed a strategy to offer places to local children and to the children of our staff.
Manchester Airport are closely linked with Parklands High School (to be known as the Manchester Enterprise Academy from September 2009) where we are proud to be the lead sponsor. In support of this relationship we will only accept applications from students attending this school.
Employees of the Manchester Airport Group can also apply for a work experience place for children for whom they are the primary carer. These Children need not be at the MEA.
Applications must be made at least one term in advance and applicants will be notified if they have been successful by the end of the term in which we receive the application.
University students – There are opportunites for university students to join us for work experience. Unless advertised these places are unpaid. Priority will be given to students attending Manchester Universities and living locally . If you wish to make an application please complete the form above for consideration.
Work Returners
We appreciate that some people may have been out of the work place for some time and be looking to build their skills. It may be possible for us to help with work experience in these cases if you live in the Wythenshawe area. In these cases we are unable to offer payment or to pay expenses. Applications should be made using the form above.
