Manchester International Festival have teamed up with Manchester Airport to put on some wonderful events this summer...
BabyO produced by Scottish Opera
In May 2011, Manchester Airport and Manchester International Festival (MIF) invited parents and babies to enter a world of sound and song with Baby O, produced by the Scottish Opera. For babies aged 6 – 24 months, we held 2 FREE events in Wythenshawe and Knutsford.

Babies respond to music from a very young age and Baby O proved an ideal first musical experience, the babies were captivated. The 30-minute show took the children into a magical secret garden full of busy bees, ducks and splashing fish where they met 3 singers and began a special adventure.
More than 100 babies attended and the event was featured on BBC’s North West tonight programme.

A multimedia project encompassing music, apps, internet, installations and live shows, Biophilia celebrates how sound works in nature, exploring the infinite expanse of the universe, from planetary systems to atomic structure.
Between 4th and 8th July 2011, twenty pupils will spend a week at the Museum of Science and Industry creating and offering up their own responses to the music.
