Water quality

Manchester Airport's objective is to use less mains water and to control activities and developments on site to help improve the quality of local watercourses.

Manchester Airport uses water for passenger and staff welfare, toilet facilities, catering and on aircraft for drinking water.

Mains water is also used for construction, aircraft washing and for road sweepers.

Waste water goes into a foul sewer for treatment by United Utilities.

The airport aims to use less mains water and to control activities and developments on site to help improve the quality of local watercourses.

Sue Hodnett is the environment advisor responsible for monitoring water quality on site.
